How to Edit a Citation in Word to Read Et Al

Without manually entering all the names (which I wanted to avert by using the referencing arrangement in the first place), is there whatsoever manner to go Word to listing all of the names?

There is no style Word to list all the names, instead y'all would take to enter the names manually. If in that location is any other stride / workaround then i am not aware of information technology.

Volition have to wait for MVP or User to shed the insight on this.

The automobile-insertion of et al is probably because that's what the referencing format you've chosen specifies. To exercise otherwise would exist to reference incorrectly. You could, of grade, apply a unlike referencing format.

I'grand using the Harvard (parenthetical) referencing style. In every single academic paper I've seen, the full list of names is written in the references list. Maybe Microsoft don't read the same papers I do...

Actually, I am in the same position equally Richard. I am writing a paper and have selected Harvard referencing. Information technology is also putting et al. in my bibliography which is totally incorrect for Harvard referencing. It's annoying as I said I'd attempt the word version instead of my usual https://www.citethisforme.com/.

Can someone delight suggest a rectification for this as I have a really long bibliography and dont desire to have to re do it.

Thanks

Regrettably, Microsoft'south implementation of the various referencing formats seems second-rate. None of the APA, Chicago or, it seems, Harvard formats conform to what they should be. What I usually end up doing is inserting all the references & bibliography using Word'due south tools, then converting them to text in one case the writing is done so I can right the formatting.

This trick works:

first, use APA while writing your paper and when done, create the bibliography. The names course all the authors will be written out fully.

After that, alter the setting to Harvard, the citations volition then alter to et al from iii writers and up, while the bibliography remains the same;-)

That is just true to the extent that both APA & Harvard accept some mutual features. If your bibliography isn't changing, that'due south only considering it contains aught that differs for bibliography purposes betwixt the 2 formats.
